Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The top seven teams in the NJCAA Women's Division I Basketball rankings remained the same, which means the Hutchinson Community College women remain No. 7.

The Blue Dragons are 6-0 after three impressive victories in last week's rankings period. Hutch set a school scoring and margin of victory record with a 127-37 victory over Hesston College last Tuesday. The Dragons then picked up two impressive neutral-court victories over Labette and Jefferson College over the weekend.

With the new rankings on Monday, the Blue Dragons have a huge neutral-court test on Thursday in Council Bluffs, Iowa when the No. 7 Blue Dragons square off against No. 8 New Mexico in a rematch of last year's national semifinals.

Gulf Coast State remains No. 1 after receiving all seven first-place votes. South Plains is No. 2, Trinity Valley No. 3, Northwest Florida State No. 4, Seward County No. 5 and Shelton State No. 6.

Butler fell out of the Top 25 this week, but is in the receiving votes list with Cowley.

Former Blue Dragon opponent Western Nebraska is up two spots to No. 15 this week.

In addition to Thursday's game with New Mexico, the Blue Dragons will also play Iowa Western on Saturday in Council Bluffs.

The Blue Dragons have been ranked in 23 consecutive rankings and for the 124th poll in the last 129 ranking periods.
