Hutchinson CC Sports Information

Hutchinson Community College women's soccer head coach Sammy Lane knows the road to a Jayhawk West title likely begins Saturday in Great Bend.

Going 0-1-1 against Barton in 2018 greatly hindered the Blue Dragons title chances one year ago. The Blue Dragons open the 2019 Jayhawk West season on Saturday at Barton.

Game time is at 2 p.m. The game will be streamed by the Barton Sports Network. The link will be available at game time.

Hutchinson is 2-1 overall and hasn't played for eight days. The Dragons were supposed to play Northwest Tech in a home game, but the Mavericks dropped their women's and men's soccer programs in July.

The last time out, the Blue Dragons defeated Redlands 13-0 on a four-goal game from current Jayhawk Conference co-player of the week Samantha Vaughn. Freshman Marah Franke had a goal and four assists.

Barton, the defending Jayhawk West champion, started the season 0-3, but picked up its first victory in its conference opener with a 6-0 victory over Garden City on Wednesday.
