With two weeks remaining in the 2018 regular season, the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team still hasn't locked up a home match for the opening round of the Region VI Tournament on October 30.

Every one of the final four matches of the regular season will be crucial for Hutchinson starting on Wednesday Night with the Butler Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. in the Sports Arena.

Hutchinson (14-14) and Butler (15-10) are tied for third place in the Jayhawk West at 8-4. One-half game behind in fifth place in Barton, Hutch's Monday opponent in Great Bend. Those three teams are battling for the final two home spots after Seward County and Colby.

The Blue Dragons have lost two in a row and are 5-5 in their last 10 after a 1-3 weekend at the Missouri State-West Plains Invitational last weekend. The Dragons lost four-set matches to No. 13 Panola and No. 11 Tyler, dropped a five-set battle with host West Plains and swept Jefferson College over the weekend.

The Blue Dragons hit just .118 in the four matches as West Plains. Defensively the Dragons were strong with 13.88 digs and 2.12 blocks per set. The Dragons had a season-high 16.5 blocks against West Plains on Saturday.

Butler comes in riding a four-match winning streak and hasn't played since last Friday when the Grizzlies swept Cloud County in El Dorado. The Grizzlies start a key stretch with Seward County, Colby and Barton still looming over the final two weeks of the regular season.

The Blue Dragons finish with Butler, at Dodge City on Friday, at Barton on Monday and will close out the regular season in eight days with Independence at home.

Hutchinson owns one win over Butler this season, winning in three sets at the Power Plant in El Dorado. Hutch hit just .157, but held the Grizzlies to .000 hitting.
