Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College women's cross country team had four players place in the Top 25 Friday night to lead the Blue Dragons to a third-place finish in the season-opening Terry Masterson Twilight Classic at Fun Valley.

Cowley had three runners place in the top five as the Tigers ran away with the team title with 35 points. Butler was second with 54 points and the Blue Dragons were third with 91. The Dragons were trying to defend their 2018 team title.

Sophomore Sheila Too had an impressive first cross country meet with a sixth-place finish. The Blue Dragons' 10,000-meter record holder ran a 3-mile time of 19:56.8.

All-American Gabby Collins finished 15th with a time of 20:52.3. Sophomore Christina Bruce was 23rd with a time of 21:49.3. Freshman Megan Miller was 24th with a time of 21:49.8.

Freshman Brooklyn Testriep finished 33rd overall with a time of 22:31.9. Freshman Natalie Schroeder was 46th in a time of 24:42.8.

Cowley's Lubna Suied rolled to the individual title, posting the sixth-fastest Masterson Twilight time of 18:40.8, winning by 43 seconds.

The Blue Dragons will next complete at the Missouri Southern Stampede on September 21 in Joplin, Missouri.
