Hobart-Detter Field
Home of Blue Dragon Baseball
One of the most historic stadiums in the state, Hobart-Detter Field was long-known as a premiere natural grass field and has been the home for Blue Dragon baseball since the program’s inception in 1975. Now Hobart-Detter Field sports a state-of-the-art artificial playing surface that is a tremendous asset to the ballpark and Blue Dragons alike.
The Blue Dragons are 14-time Jayhawk West conference champions, three-time Region VI champions and brought home a third-place finish at the 2010 NJCAA World Series.
Some noteable baseball players to step foot on Hobart-Detter Field include Mickey Mantle, Roger Clemens, and Barry Bonds.
In addition to being the home of the Blue Dragons, Hobart-Detter is also home to the Hutchinson Monarchs summer collegiate team and the old Hutch Broncs from the 1970s. The Monarchs won its first NBC World Series in 2023. It also hosts the Hutchinson Salthawks high school baseball team. The NBC World Series also played its opening-round games at the historic ballpark in the summer of 2021.
