ROSSER TAPPED AS JAYHAWK WEST PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Hutchinson Community College starting pitcher Lachlan Rosser tossed his best game as a Blue Dragon last Friday against Garden City.

That performance earned Rosser Jayhawk West Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday.

With the Blue Dragons battling two other teams for a spot in the top four in the Jayhawk West, the freshman left-handed starter from Wollongong, Australia, pitched a gem in a 4-0 victory over Garden City in Game 2 of the series at Hobart-Detter Field.

Rosser tossed seven shutout innings of two-hit baseball at the Broncbusters.

He struck out six and walked only one. Rosser's seven innings were a season long for the left-hander. He used 95 pitches and only one Garden City runner reached third base.

Rosser is now 5-3 this season.

Rosser is the third Blue Dragon to earn conference weekly honors this season.

Freshman Anthony Mazza was Player of the Week in Week 5. Sophomore Trenton Roehler was Pitcher of the Week in Week 9.

The Blue Dragons open a four-game series against the Pratt Beavers on Thursday at Hobart-Detter Field.
