Hutchinson Community College football running back Waymond Jordan Jr., was named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week for the fifth time this season on Tuesday. Sophomore linebacker Kedrick Walker earned his first conference weekly honor.

Jordan and Walker earned the awards after their strong performances led the No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons to a 42-17 victory over Garden City and secure a spot in the 2024 NJCAA National Playoffs.

This is the ninth and 10th KJCCC weekly awards garnered by Blue Dragon players. This is the second time this season that Hutchinson had multiple winners on the same week. Quarterback Samari Collier and kicker Nestus Burger were both winners in Week 3.

Jordan, a sophomore running back from Pensacola, Florida, posted his eighth 100-yard rushing game of the season and jumped four spots on the Blue Dragon single-season rushing list to No. 7 in the Garden City game.

For the game, Jordan rushed 22 times for 135 yards and one touchdown. Now with 1,332 yards for the season, the NJCAA's leading rusher moved into seventh place on the Blue Dragon single-season rushing list and is tied with Alvin Kamara for second in single-season rushing touchdowns with 18.

Walker, a sophomore linebacker from had a career-high nine tackles in leading the number two ranked Blue Dragons defensively in a 42-17 victory over Garden City on Saturday.

Walker had seven solo tackles and a key tackle on a Garden City fourth-down play in the first half with the game tied at 7-7.
