BOX MOVES INTO 2ND AT NJCAA’S; DRAGONS 3RD AT HALFWAY MARK

NEWTON – Hutchinson Community College sophomore Charlie Box's eagle on the 15th hole at Sand Creek Station highlighted his move into second place individually after 36 holes at the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship.
The No. 3-ranked Blue Dragons sit third after two round with a 4-over par score of 580. The Blue Dragons trail lead leader Midland by 10 strokes.
Midland shot a 286 in the second round and leads the tournament by one stroke at 6-under 570. Odessa, with an incredible finish over the final five holes on Wednesday, is now second at 571, shooting 283 for the single-low round. Odessa played the final five holes at 13-under par on Wednesday.

The third-place Blue Dragons posted a team score of 295 in the second round, 10 strokes higher than Tuesday's opening-round 285. Indian Hills is one stroke behind the Blue Dragons at 581 after a 293 in the second round. New Mexico Junior College shot 298 in the second round and is now fifth at 582.
Hutchinson will be paired with Midland and Odessa in the final team groups in Thursday's third round. The Dragons tee off from 12:40 to 1:20 p.m. off Hole No. 1
Box moved into the Top 2 of the individual standings on Thursday with an incredible drive on the park-4, 382-yard 15th hole. Box drove the green and was a foot short of an ace on the par-4 hole. He tapped in for an eagle-2, which is the second time in his last three rounds at Sand Creek Station Box has eagled No. 15.
Box finished with a 3-under 69 on Wednesday to move into second place with a 3-under 139. Box is three strokes behind Odessa's Adam Bresnu, who followed his opening-round 69 with a 67 in the second round. Bresnu leads at 8-under 136.
Freshman Tyler Walker had a roller-coaster round to finish at even-par 72. Walker carded six birdies, but they were offset by four bogeys and a double bogey. Walker birdied the final hole to finish at even par for the round. He is tied for 13th after two rounds at 1-under 143.
Freshman Corey Scullion posted 76 in the second round after a 70 in the first round on Tuesday. His only birdie came on the 11th hole. Scullion is tied for 26th at 4-over 146.
Sophomore Louis Ross shot a 78 on Wednesday and is now tied for 59th at 152. Freshman Jack Northgraves shot a 79 on Tuesday and is now tied for 83rd at 155.
