FORMER DRAGON CHARLIE CROCKETT TO PLAY IN PGA EVENT

Former Hutchinson Community College All-American golfer Charlie Crockett became the second former Blue Dragon to qualify for a PGA event on Monday.
Crockett, who played for the Blue Dragons from 2019 to 2021, tied for fifth place in a qualifying event for the Valero Texas Open, which begins Thursday at TPC San Antonio.
Crockett joins another former Blue Dragon All-American, Dominic Clemons, as the only Blue Dragon players to compete in a PGA event. Clemons played in the 2025 Rocket Open and also played in the 2025 British Open.
Crockett finished in a five-way tie for fifth in a field of 132 players, carding a round of 69. Crockett posted six birdies and three bogeys in his qualifying round, including consecutive birdies on Nos. 9, 10 and 11.
The former Blue Dragon golfer from Oxted, England was a member of the Blue Dragons' 2021 NJCAA national championship team. With the Blue Dragons, Crockett was:
+ A 2019 and 2020 PING NJCAA first-team All-American;
+ The 2019 Jayhawk Conference champion and 2021 KJCCC co-champion;
+ The 2019 Region 6 Individual champion;
+ Was a 2020 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year finalist;
+ Was a 2019 Phil Mickelson National Freshman of the Year finalist.
+ Was a 2020 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year finalist;
+ Won seven tournaments as a Blue Dragon.
After Hutchinson, Crockett played at Missouri from 2022 to 2024. In 2023 for the Tigers, Crocket was named to the PING All-Region Team and was second-team All-Southeastern Conference.
Crockett is currently playing in the PGA Tour Americas, a Tier-3 professional development league. In 2024, he played in nine events, making five cuts and had one Top 10 finish with $16,412 in earning. Last season, he was in eight events and made two cuts.
