DRAGON MEN 7TH, WOMEN 17TH IN USTFCCCA RANKINGS

The Hutchinson Community College men's cross country team opened at No. 7 in the first United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings of the 2019 season.
The Blue Dragon women are 17th in the first rankings.
Hutchinson's cross country teams will be back in action this Saturday, three weeks after the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic. The Blue Dragons will compete in the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo.
The Blue Dragon men finished second in the Terry Masterston Twilight Classic on August 30 at Fun Valley. Defending national champion Andrew Kibet and fellow sophomore Sylvestre Kibarar finished 2-3 individually to lead the Blue Dragons.
The Blue Dragons are the second-highest ranked of seven Jayhawk Conference teams in the men's Top 25.
Cloud County is No. 1 in the rankings. After Hutchinson at No. 7, Allen is at No. 8, Colby is at No. 15, Highland is at No. 18, Butler is tied for 19th and Cowley is tied for 22nd.
The Hutch women were third in their first race three weeks ago. Sheila Too placed sixth to lead the Dragons and All-American Gabby Collins was 15th.
Five Jayhawk Conference women's teams are among the Top 25 this week. Cowley is at No. 5, Butler at No. 12, Hutchinson at No. 17, highland is tied for 18th and Pratt is tied for 23rd.
