Mother Nature's icy grip on the Hutchinson Community College softball team's season finally loosened up and the Blue Dragons will return to action for the first time since February 5.
Hutchinson will play host to Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Fun Valley. The Blue Dragons haven't played in 18 days, while NOC-Enid was swept by Neosho County on Monday in Chanute.
The Blue Dragons are 2-0 after a February 5 sweep of Fort Scott. Hutchinson won 3-0 on a combined two-hit shutout by Sadie Loney and Samarah Bailey. The Blue Dragons then ripped six home runs with Madison Grimes and Easton Head launching two long balls each in a 27-0 victory over the Greyhounds in Game 2.
The Blue Dragons are scheduled for six games this week. On Friday, Hutchinson travels to Gainesville, Texas to play North Central Texas in a Friday doubleheader. The Dragons play at Murray State at Noon Saturday in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
