DREHER LEADS 11 BLUE DRAGONS ON ALL-KJCCC SOFTBALL TEAM

The Jayhawk Conference champion Hutchinson Community College softball team placed 11 players on the 2026 KJCCC Division I All-Conference Teams released on Friday ahead of the opening of the Region 6 Tournament.
Freshman shortstop Riley Dreher was the only Blue Dragon to earn first-team all-conference honors. The Dragons placed five on the second team – outfielders Kaibryn Kruger and Gabby Stauffer, infielder Leyla O'Connor and pitchers Aubree Thomas and Jessica Schmidt. Five more Blue Dragons earned honorable mention honors – pitchers Alyssa Rogers and Hailey Ediger, utility player Addi Lutz, infielder Hadley Topping and catcher Tailor Golly.
The Blue Dragons won the 2026 KJCCC championship, going 27-5 and winning the league by one game over Butler. The Dragons have won two-straight conference titles and 3 of the last 4 league crowns.
The numbers used for compiling the all-KJCCC team were based on the 32 league games played.

RILEY DREHER – 1st-Team Infield
The freshman shortstop from Hays had an exceptional season, leading the league for most of the season in batting average. In conference play, Dreher hit .496 (59 for 119) wit 18 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 41 RBIs. Dreher scored 38 runs.
Dreher hit safely in 29 of 32 league games, putting together a 19-game hitting streak in the middle of the league season. She had 20 multi-hit games, including 12 two-hit games, six three-hit games and a pair of four-hit games.
Overall in 52 regular-season games, Dreher hit .486 (88 for 181) with 28 doubles, seven triples, three home runs with 62 RBIs and 51 runs scored.
KAIBRYN KRUGER – 2nd-Team Outfield
The sophomore centerfielder from Silver Lake was named all-conference for the second-straight season. Playing 32 conference games, Kruger hit .305 (25 for 82) with a team-high six home runs and 26 RBIs.
Kruger had a .525 on-base percentage with 20 walks and 19 hit-by-pitches. Kruger stole 21 of 24 bases and had two outfield assists in conference games.
In the entire regular season, Kruger hit .311 (42 for 135) with 10 home runs, 37 RBIs, 50 runs scored and 35 stolen bases.
GABBY STAUFFER – 2nd-Team Outfield
Stauffer, a sophomore right-fielder from Wichita, hit .387 in 27 league games (37 of 92) with eight doubles and a triple. Stauffer had 19 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
For the regular season, Stauffer hit .366 (53 for 145) with 12 doubles, a triple and 28 RBIs.
AUBREE THOMAS – 2nd-Team Pitcher
The sophomore right-handed pitcher from Hays posted a 7-2 record in 14 conference appearances. She posted a 2.62 ERA.
Thomas, who has 25 career wins, pitched 56 innings and had 33 strikeouts with an opponent batting average of .271. Thomas twirled a pair of complete games against Dodge City on March 18 and at Seward County on April 8. She struck out a league-high six twice this season.
Thomas completed the regular season 12-2 with a 2.57 earned run average. Over a team-high 87 innings pitched, Thomas struck out 53 and allowed an opponent batting average of 258.
JESSICA SCHMIDT – 2nd-Team Pitcher
Schmidt made 16 conference appearances and had six runs and six saves this season.
The sophomore left-handed pitcher from Norfolk, Nebraska, was 6-1 in league play with an ERA of 1.50. She struck out 46 in 42 innings and allowed an opponent batting average of .203.
Schmidt led the NJCAA in the regular season with eight saves. She posted a 7-2 record with a 1.91 ERA. In 62 1-3 innings, Schmidt struck out 59 and allowed an opponent batting average of .222.
LEYLA O'CONNOR – 2nd-Team Infield
A freshman middle infielder from Bennington, Nebraska, O'Connor hit .402 in league games (37 for 92) with nine doubles, three home runs and 18 walks. O'Connor had 25 RBIs and scored 23 runs.
O'Connor hit .336 (48 for 143) overall with 12 doubles, three home runs with 28 RBIs and 28 runs scored in 47 regular-season games.
TAILOR GOLLY – Honorable Mention Catcher
The sophomore catcher from Grimes, Iowa hit .308 in 32 league games (33 for 107) with five doubles and a pair of home runs. She had 26 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
Behind the plate, Golly threw out seven of 25 base-stealers and she had a .986 fielding percentage.
Golly closed the regular season with a .303 batting average (50 for 165) with three home runs, nine doubles and 36 RBIs.
ADDI LUTZ – Honorable Mention Utility
Working as a designated player and catcher, Lutz hit .308 in 31 conference games (28 for 91) with seven doubles and two triples. Lutz, a sophomore from Olathe, had seven doubles and two triple. She walked 17 times and was hit by pitches 12 times.
Lutz's top league game was a three-hit, seven-RBI game in a 21-0 win over Barton on March 11.
Lutz posted a .360 batting average (50 for 139). She had 12 doubles, two triples, 30 RBIs and 37 runs scored.
HADLEY TOPPING – Honorable Mention Infield
A freshman from Maize, Topping played in 25 leagues games, starting 21. Topping hit .359 (23 for 64) with four doubles and two home runs. She drove in 13 runs and scored 14 times.
In 32 regular-season games, Topping hit .372 (29 for 78) with six doubles, two home runs and 14 RBIs.
ALYSSA ROGERS – Honorable Mention Pitcher
A freshman from Waxahachie, Texas, posted a 5-1 record in 15 KJCCC appearances, that including nine starts. Rogers had an ERA of 2.29. Over 49 league innings, Rogers allowed a .272 batting average against. She had 36 strikeouts.
Rogers made 24 appearances, including 13 starts, and went 7-3 with a 3.86 ERA. She pitched 69 innings with 50 strikeouts.
HAILEY EDIGER – Honorable Mention Pitcher
A freshman from Columbus, Kansas, Ediger went 4-1 with a 1.99 ERA in nine appearances. Ediger had 21 strikeouts in 31 2-3 innings. Opponents hit .230 against Ediger in league games.
Ediger had league wins against Butler, Colby, Garden City and Fort Hays Tech Northwest. She had seven strikeouts against FHTNW.
Ediger in 15 appearances, that including 11 starts, was 7-4 with a 2.29 ERA. She had 30 strikeouts in 52 innings.
